ApexHi Properties Limited (ApexHi) is a property loan stock company which listed on the JSE Limited in the Financial Services Real Estate sector on 5 March 2001. The company offers investors a high-yielding, professionally managed portfolio of retail, office and industrial properties and is currently the second largest South African listed property company on the JSE, with a market capitalisation in excess of R10-billion.
SOCIO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ApexHi continues to invest skills and resources in a number of interventions which it believes will benefit broad-based communities mainly in the Johannesburg inner city but over time throughout the country. ApexHi is a member of the Johannesburg Inner City Coalition which is involved in transformation of the Johannesburg inner city and Braamfontein and together with the Johannesburg Development Agency, has funded the upgrade to Commissioner, End and Main Streets, surrounding the Jewel City complex on the eastern side of Johannesburg. ApexHi’s contribution towards this upgrade is R2-million. In addition, ApexHi has purchased three derelict properties in this area to upgrade for the further expansion of Jewel City.
ApexHi has invested R1,4-million in the Business Trust over a period of two years. The Business Trust is a partnership between business and government to stimulate employment, build capacity and enhance trust between the parties.
ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT
ApexHi entered into a partnership with Isivuno Apex Properties in mid 2006 to strategically manage a portfolio of office properties in Pretoria with a value of R400-million at the time.
Isivuno Apex Properties is 100% black owned, managed and controlled, and is responsible for government lease negotiations in the ApexHi portfolio.
As a result of the partnership, Isivuno Apex Properties has employed six people across the country, and makes use of black owned contractors for the refurbishments and maintenance of the government-occupied buildings.
