Waterstone West is the third and final phase of the Waterstone project its construction will complete this entire precinct at Century City
Waterstone West, a low-rise development of 70 sectional title apartments set in beautifully landscaped gardens at Century City, is to be launched next week.
Being built at a cost of R100m by Rabie Property Group, Waterstone West will offer buyers a wide variety of studio, one and two bedroom apartments and for the first time in recent years, the opportunity to purchase a new three bedroom apartment.
Set over basement parking, the three-storey building has been orientated to maximise water views and most apartments will face onto cascading waterways. Those that don’t will have the benefit of being north facing.
All apartments will have either a balcony or terrace. Studio and one bedroom apartments will each have one undercover parking bay while most two and three bedroom units come with two undercover parking bays.
Excluding balconies, unit sizes range from 38 square metre studios to the top-of-the-range three bedroom apartments of 138 square metres with the largest apartments being located on the corners of the building.
One bedroom units, which average about 61 square metres, are selling from R895 000 to R1,1m; two bedroom units which average about 77 square metres are selling from R1,35m while three bedroom units, which range in size from 98 square metres to 134 square metres, are selling for between R1,775m and R2,1m.
The landscaped gardens will include water features and wooden viewing decks overlooking the navigable waterways which surround the development on two sides.
The high security development will have a mix of perimeter walling and fencing with 24 hour manned boom control entrance.
Construction is expected to start in March next year with completion phased from March 2009. Waterstone West is the third and final phase of the Waterstone project its construction will complete this entire precinct at Century City.
The first phase, Waterstone East, comprising 112 low-rise, walk-up apartments and 13 waterfronting townhouses was launched in March this year and only three townshouses and a handful of apartments remain to be sold. The second arm of the development Waterstone Isles, which when completed will comprise a total of 53 water-fronting exclusive villas on a private island, has also being selling well with only 8 of the 25 homes in the first phase remaining to be sold.
All three developments will be accessed off Waterstone Square, a formal, palm-lined bricked piazza with canal frontage.
Rob Downey, manager of Property World, the specialist on-site manager for residential developments at Century City, said the continued strong demand for homes at Century City generally and at Waterstone in particular proved that their market research and feedback from other schemes which had influenced the planning and design of Waterstone was spot on.
